Character: Sakuma Ryuichi
Setting: Somewhere in NG, sometime during the rise of Bad Luck and after the reformation of Nittle Grasper.
Seeking: Any
Character Limit: Two more characters.
Rating: Up to R.
Genre: Any
Format: Third person, past tense.

-----------

Sakuma Ryuichi was looking cool. Sakuma Ryuichi was -always- looking cool. But, today he was looking especially cool because he had a new pair of sunglasses. Not only did he have a new pair of sunglasses, but Kumagoro had a new pair of sunglasses as well. Needless to say, both Ryuichi and Kumagoro had matching sunglasses.

Ryuichi was wearing his glasses INSIDE NG, because he was just that cool. Unfortunately, these glasses were very dark, and caused Ryuichi to become very lost on his way to the cafeteria to find pudding. Because of this, Ryuichi had decided to go up to everything he -thought- might be a person and ask them:

"Um, where's the pudding?"

He'd already asked a water fountain and a vending machine, and neither of them had any idea. Kumagoro suggested that Ryuichi just take the sunglasses off, but Ryuichi vetoed the idea. If he wasn't walking around with cool sunglasses, then today was just like any other day. And Ryuichi liked days that were full of adventure. And singing.

So, Ryuichi walked up to yet another object, and asked again.

"Where's the pudding?"

Tohma stepped out of a meeting, a refreshing glass of ice water in his hand. A few smaller companies had piqued his interest, and Tohma thought it might be beneficial to buy a few of them. That meant business meetings, more business meetings, oh, can't forget the business meetings. It also meant mounds of paperwork. So at the moment, Tohma was quite exhausted.

Of course, Tohma was much too refined to show it. He looked as immaculate as always, thought he might have been walking a bit slower than usual.

After taking a long, cool drink, Tohma looked up to see his bandmate talking to the office furniture...again. He laughed, a hand moving upward to muffle it a bit. He walked up to the singer, a broad smile on his face.

"Ryuichi-san, you might find me slightly more interesting than the office plant."

Ryuichi's eyes went wide, though no one could see them, due to the fact that they were hidden by the sunglasses. Tohma was talking, but as far as Ryuichi could tell, Tohma had either become extremely FAT in the last few days, or...

Ryuichi put a hand out to feel the object in front of him.

"Oh no! Someone evil and nefarious has turned Tohma into a couch. Oh, Tohma. I'm so sorry. I didn't even know." Ryuichi shook his fist in the air. And, since that fist was curled around Kumagoro's ear, Kumagoro shook in the air, too. "I promise, I promise, I will find the person that did this to you, and I will make them suffer in a most Tohma-esque way."

Ryuichi tapped his finger to his lips. "Now, if I were a Tohma who wasn't a couch, how would I make someone suffer for turning me into office furniture?"

Another melodic laugh resonated from around Ryuichi as Tohma stepped in front of the singer, sliding the sunglasses down Ryuichi's face.

"Well, I might torture them by making them wear sunglasses through which they couldn't see."

Tohma peered into Ryuichi's blue eyes over the top of his glasses, giving him the smile that let him know he didn't exactly approve. "Are you going to join me for lunch, or would you prefer to continue your search for pudding?" he said in a good-natured tone.

Ryuichi was quite surprised to find out that Tohma wasn't actually a couch. Well, not too surprised. Tohma seemed more like an expensive Tiffany lamp person than a couch person. Which is not to say that Tohma couldn't appreciate a good couch, it was just difficult to imagine him turning into one, through force or by accident.

Ryuichi giggled a little. He proceeded to remove his new sunglasses and slide one earpiece into his collar so that they could dangle oh-so-nonchalantly from his neck.

It really was good to see Tohma, so good that Ryuichi chanced a quick hug, which made up for brevity with extra-strong squishyness. This being done, Ryuichi straightened himself and Kumagoro out, and said, "Kumagoro and I -are- feeling a bit peckish, na no da. And we'd never turn down lunch with the magnificent and ever-so-pretty Seguchi Tohma."

Ryuichi began to hop in the direction of the elevator. "How many kingdoms did you conquer today, Tohma? Buy any candy factories?"

Tohma returned the hug with a slight pat on Ryuichi's back. Well, he was definitely getting better at controlling himself. No more incidents like the one in the airport, which Tohma was grateful for. Though, it was nice to have someone always so excited to see him.

"No kingdoms today, Ryuichi-san, but I did manage a few territories. As for candy factories, we're still in the beginning stages so very few decisions have been made. I'm hopeful though."

Tohma followed Ryuichi with a brusque step. He'd learned to walk relatively fast to keep up with his hyper vocalist. "Do you want to go out, or get something from the cafeteria?"

Ryuichi did try to control himself, a little, while in NG. Because, even though he was sometimes cursed with severe thoughtlessness, stupidity, and attacks of goofyness, he did know that if Tohma got too mad at him, he'd make the vending machine off limits to Ryuichi, or dozens of other clever punishments only Tohma could think up. Nonetheless, the people who could successfully resist all forms of a Ryuichi-hugging were rare. And Ryuichi figured Tohma needed some hugging, since he probably didn't get enough from Mika-san (who could be quite scary at times).

"I think you're just pulling Kumagoro's leg about the candy factories." Though, knowing Tohma, maybe not! "Oh! But, wouldn't that be fun! We could put gum in all of our singles. It would be like baseball cards. But with music!"

Ryuichi bopped around as he waited for the elevator, apparently dancing to the music in his head, since it just didn't match the music in the hallway at all.

"Oh! We should go have dinner in Hawaii! At one of those luau things! I bet they'll let us dress in grass skirts. And then we can abduct a pretty girl and throw her into a volcano for good luck. Or something."

As the elevator opened, Tohma stepped inside and yawned. He wasn't afraid to allow himself to slip a bit in front of Ryuichi (mostly because the singer was always slipping up in front of him). He even stretched a bit, resting his chin in his hand. Tiny gray circles appeared under his eyes, as if the forcefield that kept him so pristine was slowly shutting down.

"Ryuichi-san," he said with an amused tone. "Why don't we try to stay in the country, hm? And if Noriko-san ever caught us throwing a girl into a volcano, she'd throw us in. Most likely in nothing but the grass skirts."

Ryuichi tilted his head a bit as he thought about this. Or, perhaps he was just scrutinizing Tohma. Ryuichi pursed his lips a bit, and played with one of Kumagoro's legs for quite a few moments.

Tohma looked tired, Ryuichi thought. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea, after all. Tired Tohmas usually need beauty sleep. Ryuichi was always worried that his friend pushed himself too hard. And Kumagoro? Kumagoro was worried about the Stuffing Bandits.

"Noriko-san will never take me, or my grass skirt! Not alive!"

Ryuichi struck a sudden pose which -might- have been lifted from an action movie. He gave Tohma a big smile, and then scooted closer to him. "Tohma's tired, na no da. We can go to Tohma's house, and Ryuichi can make magic happy food appear with his cellphone. Delivery?"

Actually...that didn't sound too bad at all. Heading home in the middle of the day, lying down in his house, on his couch, in something much more comfortable than his suit...and eating some nice delivery. Five star delivery even. Everyone, whether they did take-out or not, delivered food to Tohma's house.

Of course, this also involved him leaving work early to sit around idly. And if Ryuichi was going to be with him, that meant no work was going to get done. He loved his friend to death...but it was hard to read the accounting reports with a particularly loud pink bunny hanging over your shoulder.

Oh well. He'd sleep...later. Yeah. Later that month.

"I think it's better for us to go to a nearby restaurant, Ryuichi-san. What kind of food do you want? How does Italian sound?" There were only a thousand Italian restaurants in Tokyo.

Ryuichi smiled. It was, as always, terribly difficult to make Tohma do what was good for Tohma. Ryuichi always worried that one of these days, he'd get a phone call saying Tohma was in the hospital for a heart-attack or a stroke or I-worked-myself-into-a-Coma-itis.

Not that Ryuichi didn't work. No, he couldn't have gotten where he was today without applying himself singularly to his craft. He just tried to have playtime interspersed within worktime. All work and no play makes Kumagoro a dull bunny.

"Italian? How does it sound? Silly Tohma, food doesn't make noises. Unless you get sizzling fajitas, and then they sound like this: Ssszzzztsszzzztszzzzz." Ryuichi scratched his head as he pondered the Sound of Food, which was altogether different from the Sound of Music. "Yup. Sounds good to me. I could eat an Italian all night long."

Ryuichi nodded to himself. Kumagoro nodded, as well.

Tohma didn't have playtime. In fact, his lack of rest and relaxation allowed for many others to have it. He yawned again. How long ago was it that he'd had a real night's sleep...er...

"I'm sure the Italian wouldn't appreciate getting eaten by you and Kumagorou, Ryuichi-san." He did smile, and rubbed his eyes.

The elevator stopped on the bottom floor, and he got out, heading for the door. "Think of what you want now, because I don't have much time for lunch." He had exactly 45 minutes. Then he had five thousand business meetings to attend.

After watching Tohma for a few minutes, Ryuichi got a mischievous little grin on his face, which disappeared instantly. He hopped (literally) after Tohma, all the way to the parking garage. Once there, he licked his lips and strode up to Tohma's car as if he owned the car factory itself. Ryuichi put himself in front of the driver's side door to prevent Tohma from getting into the car.

"Oh, Tohma," Ryuichi purred, "There's so many things that I want."

Ryuichi let his leer travel down the length of Tohma's body. Then he smirked.

Tohma rubbed his face and sighed. He wasn't going to eat today, he could already tell. Ryuichi had his mind set on...something, and he wasn't going to give it up. Which meant Tohma would get no work done.

Keeping his face still, he ignored the look Ryuichi was giving him and pointed to his imported watch.

"You've lost two minutes of lunch time already." He had too much work today to let the singer blow it all. Didn't Ryuichi realize he'd have to make up for today for the next three months?

"If you want to have lunch at all, you'll kindly remove yourself from in front of my door." Tohma's voice was soft, but stern. Ryuichi had to know he wasn't joking at all, as the singer had learned to take advantage of any weakness Tohma showed toward him.

Ryuichi just continued to leer. Apparently, he had a bug up his butt about something. Well, mostly he wanted Tohma to just chill out. Tohma was always so busy now, always so serious. It really wasn't good for him. Tohma took too much onto his own shoulders. He needed to learn how to delegate.

...before he started getting wrinkles from all this work!

"Oh, Tohma," That knowing and completely mischievous grin graced Ryuichi's lips. Lips which were, deliciously enough, parted ever-so-slightly. "You're no fun when you're like this."

Ryuichi pushed himself off of the car and slinked up to Tohma. One hand darted out to touch Tohma's cheek. Ryuichi dragged his fingers slowly to Tohma's chin. "I need to know you're still fun. Then I won't worry, you know? You don't want Ryu-chan to lay awake at night worried about you, do you?"

Tohma sighed and mentally smacked himself in the head. He placed his hands on Ryuichi's shoulders, and turned him around so that Tohma was near the car, and Ryuichi was away from it.

"I'm still plenty of fun. I'm about to have a very fun..." he checked his watch again, "...forty minute lunch with you. Ah, excuse me, thirty-nine minutes." Tohma was very skilled in dodging most Ryuichi-attacks. He opened the car door.

"Hurry and get in, or I'll have to have a fun thirty...eight minute lunch with myself."

Ryuichi hung his head a bit. Fine, if Tohma wasn't going to play his game, then he wouldn't play Tohma's hurry-hurry stressed out power-lunch game.

"Enjoy your lunch, Tohma! Kumagoro and I are going to go find someone -fun- to play with. Bye-eeeee!"

With that, Ryuichi decided to skip, skip, skip back towards NG. With any luck, maybe he could find Shuichi! Or Noriko-chan! Or a potted plant.

How frustrating was this?!

"Nobody stands me up!" She didn't care how SORRY Tetsuya was. Oh, he was so so busy... Too busy to meet her for lunch?! Who cared about some student's paper, for Christ's sake! She had wanted him to take her out for a nice lunch...maybe some Mexican, damnit!

Noriko had been in such a good mood all day. Breakfast had been lovely, and Saki had even helped her make pancakes!

She glared at her cell phone the entire elevator ride down, and as soon as she kicked open the front doors of NG, that cell phone was brought back and flung forward with all her might. Maybe if she was lucky, Tetsuya would appear and it would hit him in the face.

Ryuichi bopped bopped bopped back towards the NG lobby. He murmured to Kumagoro that they would Live To Fight Another Day where Tohma's non-fun-ness was concerned. They needed a far more elaborate plan, anyway. The needed to become fun-ninjas.

Ryuichi considered his original plan of finding some yummy pudding. Today was definitely a pudding day, and after his defeat at the hands of Tohma, he would need some good comfort-food. Ryuichi had been reciting all of the different kinds of pudding from around the world in his head, when he saw the elevator open out of the corner of his eye.

"NORIKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNN!" Ryuichi immediately forgot everything he'd been considering, and bounced happily towards a rather irate-looking Noriko, intent on a solid glomping.

Noriko had certainly been hoping that her husband's face would suddenly appear, but she admitted that seeing her favorite vocalist pop up instead was not disappointing. Either him or Tohma were the next best thing, of course.

"Ryu-chan~!" she called in reply, steadying herself for the glomp that she knew was about to come. It was a good thing she knew how to balance perfectly in high heels, or it might have turned out to be a disaster! When Ryuichi flung his arms around her, she laughed, all tension temporarily melting away.

Although... "Sweetie pie, you're going to mess up my hair at this rate." She patted his shoulder and stepped back when he released her, allowing her to immediately pull out her compact and double check. Nope... It was fine. But if it had continued like that...

"So what are you up to, honey?" She snapped the compact shut and dropped it in her purse, ignoring as a passing employee gawked at the shattered cell phone not too far away. It had hit a wall.

"Isn't it lunch time? I thought you would be eating with Tohma. Or is he still working up in his office?" She wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Ryuichi was slightly surprised that Noriko didn't dodge his massive glomping. Surprised, but in a good way. Hugs were an important part of a complete breakfast. Or lunch. OR really any time period of the day, be it food-time or not.

Ryuichi finally let go of Noriko and sort of bounced in place while he watched her check her makeup and hair. He didn't know why Nori-chan was worried. Her hair always looked cooler than anyone else's hair. At least she did something with her hair. Ryuichi sometimes forgot the meaning of the word "hairbrush".

Ryuichi blinked and tilted his head when he finally noticed the broken phone. "Noriko-chan? Someone seems to have been abusing phones." Ryuichi bent down with a movement which seemed more apropos to a marionette than a man, and picked up a piece. Wait... Is this Noriko's phone? "Did your phone do something naughty, naughty?"

Ryuichi whirled around and nodded at Noriko's question. "Oh. Me? Lookin' for pudding, na no da! Tohma and I were gonna go to lunch, but he was being a pill, so Kumagoro ditched him." A small frown crossed Ryuichi's face for a moment, but disappeared into the abyss of his perpetual genkiness within an instant.

Noriko's eyebrow perked up at Ryuichi surveyed the phone massacre. "Naughty, naughty? You might say that." More like the person on the other end of the phone had done something naughty.

She twitched just thinking about it.

When Noriko heard Ryuichi's little complaint about their other keyboardist, she shook her head, single pony tail bouncing with the movement. "Pudding? Hmm.... Pistachio pudding sounds kind of tasty right now." Although it would have to be sugar free... No joke.

"And what do you mean you were going to go? ...Did you really ditch him?" Oh wait. "I mean, Kuma-kun ditched him? What an insatiable bunny." She reached out to tickle beneath Ryuichi's chin with a finely manicured nail.

"Want to grab some pudding from the cafeteria? Is that where you were headed?"

Hmmm. This was some sort of phone-disaster. Ryuichi hoped that Noriko-chan wasn't in any trouble. Or angry. Angry Noriko-chans had to be immediately rectified. Just to make to ward off any anger, Kumagoro rubbed his head on Noriko's arm a little. No one could be TRULY angry while getting Kumagoro snuggles. Nor could Ryuichi be truly angry at Tohma when he was getting tickled by Noriko-chan.

"Yes! Let's get some pistachio pudding from the cafeteria and you can tell me all about your naughty phone." Ryuichi really didn't have any clue what flavor pistachio was, but lack of knowledge never stopped him from trying new things. He hopped a bit in the direction of the NG cafeteria, leaving very little space between himself and Noriko. Personal space? BAH, not in the world of Sakuma Ryuichi!

"Ano...Tohma-Tohma? Yeah. Kumagoro totally ditched his lame ass. We don't hang out with people who are dead set on acting old. Tohma needs a fun injection, Noriko-chan. Or he's like, gonna get wrinkles. Kumagoro and I, we were just trying to make him laugh, make him smile...."

Ryuichi got a bit of a faraway and momentarily forlorn look, but then snapped back into a wide and carefree smile.

Noriko definitely smiled when Kumagoro gave her snuggles. She was sure to tickle the adorable bunny under the chin, too, before walking off with Ryuichi.

"Oh honey, don't be like that. You know how Tohma-kun is. I'll bet that he's buried under appointments today! He couldn't have built this company if he wasn't that way. But... I admit if he keeps this up for much longer, he's going to fall over dead one day. I don't think we would be a very good band without our Seguchi Tohma-kun producing us. Why don't you call him up and tell him to get his cute little butt over here to the cafeteria with us? I'll bet he's totally crying from being ditched by someone as cool as Kumagorou-kun!"

Of course Tohma wouldn't be crying, and they both knew it, but it still was a good enough suggestion. "He just needs Kumagorou to give him a hug."

Ryuichi shrugged a little, and pressed his shoulder against Noriko's. It felt better when you were next to someone who understood your troubles.

"I don't want a dead-Tohma. That will be even less fun than a boring-Tohma." Ryuichi sighed, and rubbed his eyes with Kumagoro. Thinking this much made his brain hurt. "And then we couldn't have a band at all. Because it's hard to play the keyboards when your hands don't move."

Nonetheless, Ryuichi decided that maybe he shouldn't just leave it this way. Noriko was right... Tohma was just having a bad day, and Ryuichi wasn't helping. Ryuichi whipped out his cellphone and dashed off a quick text-message to Tohma to come hang out in the cafeteria...if he hadn't gone too far yet.

"Everyone loves Kumagoro hugs!!!" Ryuichi was already feeling better, since he had at least made an effort to make up with Tohma. "Oh! Here it is, the cafeteria!!! YAY! I want pudding! And popsicles! And lots and lots of chocolate milk!"

Ryuichi hopped over to the line and picked up a tray, which he proceeded to wave around like some sort of weapon. "Alright everyone, this is a stickup. Give us all your sweets, and nobunny will get hurt!" Ryuichi looked over his shoulder and smiled at Noriko. "And that woman back there is a pistachio terrorist, so you'd better hand over your puddings, or she'll bring the smackdown!"

Tohma was already taking a tiny lunch back with him toward NG. He had...about fifteen minutes, so that was about enough to poke his head in the cafeteria. He was still a bit sore from having Ryuichi totall abandon him, but that was the singer's way. He headed straight from the parking lot to the cafeteria. Perhaps he HAD been a bit of a pill, but still...>.> Ryuichi was known for keeping him from hours of work.

Noticing Ryuichi and Noriko on the line, he walked over and joined them.

"Ryuichi-san, what did I tell you about terrorizing the lunch ladies?"
